Adjust the ratios
The traditional Americano recipe calls for equal parts Campari and sweet vermouth with a splash of soda water. However, you can adjust the ratios to your taste preference. For a sweeter cocktail, use more sweet vermouth, and for a more bitter cocktail, use more Campari.
Serve it properly
The Americano is typically served over ice in a highball glass, and garnished with an orange slice or peel. Make sure your glass is properly chilled before pouring the cocktail, and consider adding a large ice cube to prevent dilution.
